Symphony No.101 in D Clock 4th movement Haydn Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
Written in 1794, this symphony acquired its nickname "The Clock" because of the "tick-tock" accompaniment in the second movement. It is one of the 12 symphonies Haydn composed during his two 18-month long visits to London. This set (nos. 93 to 104) is therefore called the "London" symphonies. They represent Haydn's last and most mature symphonies, composed for a quite large orchestra.
