Ronald Binge (1910-1979) was born in Derbyshire, England. His early jobs include cinama organist, serving in the RAF, and arranging music for Mantovani. The "cascading strings effect" used in several Mantovani recordings such as "Charmaine" was Binge's invention. He later moved on to compose tuneful light music of his own. His best=known composition is "Elizabethan Serenade".
