Charles Parry was born in England in 1848. This composer belonged to the Romantic period, and died in 1918. Alfred Hill

Sir Charles Hubert Hastings Parry  (1848-1918) 1st Baronet was an English composer, teacher and historian of music. Parry's first major works appeared in 1880.

Parry is most famous for his anthem 'Jerusalem', which is sometimes used as an English national anthem, because 'God save the Queen' is the national anthem of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
